When indie producer Melissa (Shea Alexander) shows interest in struggling writer Jared's (Tony Goldwyn) script about an abusive father-son relationship, Jared thinks he's finally on his way. But Jared's wife, Rebecca (Sean Young), reads the disturbing screenplay and begins to question her husband's past. Now a tragic secret known only to Jared and his hardhearted mother (Faye Dunaway) may come to light -- and tear the family apart in the process.
