With close attention to period detail and historical accuracy, Hill recounts famed Apache warrior Geronimo's losing battle with the U.S. Army in the late-1800s Southwest. Wes Studi has the title role; Jason Patric, Gene Hackman and Robert Duvall co-star. In one of his first prominent roles, Matt Damon plays a young Army observer.
