Jesus Feliciano, a Mexican national and soldier of the Iraqi war, returns to California after his tour of duty hoping to gain his U.S. citizenship. Suffering from postwar trauma, he tries to readapt to family life, but his battle experience has left him psychologically scarred and distrustful. Seeing his heritage slip away as his wife and daughter embrace their new culture, Jesus questions the sacrifices he must make to attain his American Dream.
