Orwellian in theme, director Alexander Aja's sci-fi thriller depicts a dystopian world in which an oppressive regime has restricted all forms of free expression, including art. Renegade painter Theo (Stanislas Merhar) defies the edict and continues to work covertly, eventually teaming up with fellow artist Elia (Marion Cotillard). Theo falls for the beautiful rebel, but their dangerous occupation soon threatens their romance -- and their lives.
