This made-for-television biopic follows Florence Nightingale's (Jaclyn Smith) career and explains how the Lady with the Lamp became one of the most important advocates for sanitation and cleanliness. Born into a wealthy family in Victorian England, Nightingale defies her class to become a nurse during the Crimean War and overcomes the medical establishment by demanding new hygiene standards for hospitals. Timothy Dalton also stars.
