As ex-matador Antonio (Fortunio Bonanova) pushes his son, Mario (Ricardo Montalban), to focus on bullfighting, his daughter, Maria (Esther Williams), secretly learns the sport. When Mario skips town to study music, Maria boldly tries to assume his identity and take his place in the bullfighting ring. Co-starring Cyd Charisse, Mary Astor and Akim Tamiroff, this musical drama received an Oscar nomination for Best Music.
