It's the year 1851, in the Carpathia Mountains of Romania. Elvira the Mistress of the Dark, accompanied by her maidservant Zou Zou, is en route to Paris to perform in a can-can revue while she waits for her big break. The pair stops for the night at a haunted castle owned by a certain Vladimir Hellsubus … whose long-dead wife bears an eerie resemblance to Elvira!
