Two Spin magazine journalists, Pat Laughlin (Jim Belushi) and Ron Larson (Gregory Hines), attempt to uncover what went wrong during the contentious investigation of the infamous "Atlanta child murders," when 31 African American kids died in the early 1980s. Wayne Williams (Clé Bennett) is convicted for the crimes, but the two reporters try to learn the truth by exploring the case's abandoned leads and tainted evidence.
