In 60 B.C., Vercingetorix (Christopher Lambert) is a peace-loving Gallic chieftain living among his fellow druids when Julius Caesar (Klaus Maria Brandauer) and the Roman Empire declare war on them. Unwilling to fight, Vercingetorix initially joins forces with Caesar, but when the great leader betrays him, Vercingetorix realizes he must join the battle to protect his people.
