HBO's first Emmy-winning series starred Brian Benben as Martin Tupper, a divorced book editor who balances a teenage son (Chris Demetral) and a still-friendly ex-wife (Wendie Malick) while putting himself out there as a single guy. Juxtaposed amid the crazy happenings of Martin's life are scenes from old films that serve as metaphors, providing a peek into his thoughts.
