Comedy-meister Eddie Murphy portrays the titular San Francisco sawbones who accidentally regains his childhood gift for conversing with critters. Word soon spreads throughout the animal kingdom, and his clinic turns into a virtual zoo overrun with sheep, horses, birds, rats, dogs and a suicidal tiger, all looking for medical advice and creating comedic chaos.
