History comes alive in this dramedy set in the 17th century that tracks the exploits of mythical figure Don Juan (Jacques Weber). Accompanied by his sidekick, Sganarelle (Michael Boujenah), Don Juan leaves a trail of heartbreak that starts with Donna Elvire (Emmanuelle Béart), the fiancée he abandons at the altar, and ends with Mathurine (Penélope Cruz), the village maiden he seduces. No wonder men are hunting him down for revenge.
