Widower and one-time prizefighter Harry Agensky (Kirk Douglas) is desperate to retire to a ranch in Northern Canada. Short on cash, Harry persuades his son, Lance (Dan Aykroyd), and teenage grandson (Corbin Allred) to take a cross-country drive to Reno, Nev., to search for diamonds that Harry was cheated out of years earlier. Douglas' fellow film legend Lauren Bacall appears as a bighearted madam in their first onscreen pairing since 1950.
