Dick Van Dyke returns as Dr. Mark Sloan, chief of internal medicine at Los Angeles's Community General Hospital, in a fifth season of the popular crime mystery series. An amateur sleuth, Sloan solves the medical mysteries ruled felonious by a diagnosis of murder. Assisting him are pathologist/medical examiner Amanda Bentley (Victoria Rowell), ER resident Jesse Travis (Charlie Schalatter) and Sloan's police detective son, Steve (Barry Van Dyke).
