After the fall of the Iron Curtain, Budapest is under fire from Russian mafiosos who are taking cues from powerful godfather Darius Paskevik (Bob Hoskins). To set things right, it's up to undercover FBI operative Mike Varga (Stephen Dorff) to infiltrate the mob and gain Paskevik's confidence. But when Varga's affections for the mobster's beautiful daughter (Laura Fraser) get in the way of duty, the agent's loyalties are stretched to the limit.
