A Texas football team tries to get a man off death row to help them win a crucial game in this satire. Former pro football star "Barefoot" Bobby Briggs (Steve Harris) awaits execution for his unintentional role in a botched robbery and murder. When his old team, the Austin Steers, needs a replacement for an injured player on the eve of a championship game, they hatch a scheme to get the gridiron great back on the field.
