Fearing neither the supernatural nor cases that have other experts stumped, ace detective Charlie Chan (Sidney Toler) solves two mysteries with his usual aplomb in this classic double bill. In Dead Men Tell, a woman literally dies of fright when she's visited by a ghostly buccaneer, but Chan believes the culprit is a flesh-and-blood killer. Charlie Chan in Rio finds the sleuth investigating a pair of murders that have the local police stymied.
