D.W. Moffett, Cloris Leachman and Tracy Pollan star in this tearjerker about a family torn apart by illness and child abduction. Bernie Fine (Moffett) at last finds the family life he's longed for when he weds Liz O'Reilly (Pollan) and happily plays father to her daughter, Jane. Liz and Bernie soon become the proud parents of a son, but their world disintegrates when Liz is diagnosed with cancer and Jane's no-good biological dad kidnaps her.
