Successful anchorwoman and mother Melanie Adams (Cheryl Ladd) hadn't bargained on falling for heart surgeon Peter Hallam (Michael Nouri), who lives thousands of miles away with his three kids. Against all odds, Melanie and Peter wed, but busy careers and trying to bring together two families threatens to pull the pair apart.
