After moving to the small Saskatchewan town of Dog River to take over her late aunt's café, Lacey Burrows (Gabrielle Miller) gets to know the quirky natives, including gas-station owner Brent LeRoy (Brent Butt), his dim-bulb pal Hank Yarbo (Fred Ewanuick) and the sardonic Wanda Dollard (Nancy Robertson). The premiere season of this smart Canadian sitcom finds Hank pretending to be Lacey's beau and Lacey helping the hockey team.
