The hunt for a San Francisco psycho makes unlikely comrades of two women: criminal psychologist Helen Hudson (Sigourney Weaver), who's survived an attack by another serial killer, and Detective M.J. Monahan (Holly Hunter), who needs Hudson's insight to break the case. The culprit has been nicknamed the Copycat for using methods based on real serial killers, from The Boston Strangler to Son of Sam.
