A smitten man tries to save his ladylove from death-row execution in this absorbing thriller. All hope has abandoned convicted murderer Charlotte Cory (Connie Nielsen) until she starts receiving letters from stranger Frank Nitzche (Aidan Quinn); the two begin corresponding, and Frank falls in love with her. As Charlotte's lawyer (Kelly Preston) frantically works on an appeal, Frank races to prove Charlotte's innocence before time runs out.
