Two struggling mainlanders, Li Xiaojun (Leon Lai) and Li Qiao (Maggie Cheung), find each other, become fast friends and fall in love in Hong Kong. The strangeness of the new city brings them together, but their separate hopes and dreams threaten to ultimately tear them apart. When they're reunited in New York City 10 years later, they'll discover whether love does indeed conquer all in this bittersweet romance by director Peter Chan.
