Two disparate people strike up a relationship that inspires them both in this tender drama starring Tatum O'Neal and Richard Burton. When 16-year-old aspiring author Sarah Norton (O'Neal) crosses paths with 60-year-old artist Ashley St. Clair (Burton) -- who hasn't picked up a brush in years -- the encounter soon leads him to paint again and her to begin writing. Will their special bond be broken after Sarah develops romantic feelings for Ashley?
