Set in Portugal, actress Maria de Medeiros's directorial debut depicts the events of April 25, 1974, when the country was freed from 40 years of dictatorship. Told through the eyes of two army captains and a teacher (de Medeiros), this historical drama relives the day in which a section of the Portuguese military, disgusted at domestic repression and bloody colonial conflict in Africa, instituted a nonviolent coup to oust the fascist government.
