Butley
(1974)|
Talk about having a bad day. Part of the American Film Theatre series, this adaptation of Simon Gray's Butley tracks a day in the life of Ben Butley (Alan Bates), an embittered English professor who learns not only that his homosexual lover is leaving him for another man, but also that his ex-wife is about to marry someone he hates and a loathed colleague's accomplishments have grown. Held together by wit and humor, Butley does not disappoint.
