The sleepy Utah town of Brigham is shaken to its core when local sheriff and Mormon bishop Wes Clayton (Richard Dutcher, who also wrote and directed) finds a California woman dead by her car. With the help of his young deputy (Matthew A. Brown), his trusty secretary (Carrie Morgan) and a retired sheriff (Wilford Brimley), Wes leads the investigation, fearing that the perpetrator may be a Brigham citizen.
