The BBC presents two Henrik Ibsen plays. Patrick McGoohan stars as Brand, a priest devoted to the Old Testament who sees immorality in compromise. As he observes his parishioners, however, he discovers that the will of man is not so rigid. In A Doll's House, a woman (Juliet Stevenson) struggles to exert her independence from her clinging husband (Trevor Eve) and is blackmailed for actions she once took to save him.
