Pioneering Dr. Eleanor Bramwell (Jemma Redgrave) continues her quest to move medicine into modern times while struggling against the constraints of her male-dominated field in this dramatic series set in late 19th-century London. This season, Bramwell deals with industrial accidents at the local brewery, treats a woman who's been concealing her breast cancer, and formalizes her engagement to a physician doing groundbreaking immunization work.
