In this first film of the Billy Jack series, a vicious motorcycle gang terrorizes a small community, intimidating the residents into silence. When half-breed Vietnam vet Billy Jack (Tom Laughlin, who also wrote and directed) rescues a young woman (Elizabeth James) from the bikers' violence, he finds himself in trouble with the town's racist police and the gang. Soon Billy gets embroiled in a vigilante war against the criminals and the cops.
