American Indian Vietnam War vet Billy Jack (Tom Laughlin) -- a character first seen in the motorcycle flick The Born Losers -- roams the American Southwest using his martial arts skills to protect the downtrodden and punish the bigoted. The victims of Billy Jack's wrath here are the ignorant townsfolk who hassle the minority students at the progressive school run by Jean Roberts (Delores Taylor, who earned a Golden Globe nod for her performance).
