Conductor Valery Gergiev leads the Kirov Opera Orchestra and Chorus in this 1998 performance of Sergei Prokofiev's four-act opera based on Richard Brinsley Sheridan's "The Duenna." St. Petersburg's Mariinsky Theater sets the stage for this whimsical comedy starring soprano Anna Netrebko as Louisa, who, with the help of her nanny, escapes an arranged marriage to the fish merchant Medoza so that she can be with her true love, Antonio.
