Robert Guillaume won an Emmy Award for his portrayal of Benson DuBois, the quick-witted and acerbic butler hired to assist bumbling Gov. Gatling in the spinoff series of "Soap." Benson has his hands full running the household that consists of the governor's young daughter, prickly German housekeeper, secretary and chief aide. But his duties soon move from the domestic to the political as he helps his blundering boss out of sticky situations.
