Shortly after arriving in the West, dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov performed at Virginia's Wolf Trap theater, as captured in this film that also marked his American television debut. In the prime of his career, Mikhail performs solo and also shares the stage with prima ballerinas such as Gelsey Kirkland (his first U.S. dance partner) and Marianna Tcherkassky. Performances include "Don Quixote," "Coppelia," "Le Spectre de la Rose" and "Vestris."
