Jack Blake (John Hurt) is so wracked with pain that he's driven to torture others. So when he encounters two female hitchhikers, he picks them up under the pretense that he's a kindhearted stranger willing to help those in need, especially women who are trying to escape horrid circumstances. Soon, it dawns on the two women that Blake is not as benign as he seems, and they must find the strength to escape his vengeful bait and switch.
