Back to Normandy

Thirty years after assisting director René Allio on a film about a 19th century triple homicide, documentarian Nicolas Philibert returns to the scene of the crime and site of the shoot, Normandy, to chart the lives of the movie's amateur cast. Interweaving interviews, clips from the 1976 feature and Philibert's reflections, the engrossing film looks at the how the moviemaking process touched the cast's lives and the rural community.
