After ruthlessly vanquishing a neighboring province, the guilt-ridden ruler (played by Shah Rukh Khan) exiles himself and seeks redemption. Packed with elaborate battle scenes, political intrigue and a star-crossed romance, Asoka also stars Hrishitaa Bhatt and Danny Denzongpa.
