When Dr. Ross Jennings (Jeff Daniels) moves to a small California town, people start dropping dead all around him -- and the killer just might be a rare arachnid imported in a coffin from Venezuela. Local exterminator Delbert McClintock (John Goodman) and entomologist Dr. James Atherton (Julian Sands) are ready to destroy the species, but Jennings must first put aside his deep-seated fear of the creepy-crawlies.
