A moody hybrid between a psychological thriller and a horror film, Appetite is an assured debut from director George Milton. The film stars talented and sexy Ute Lemper as Greta, one of a large and varied group of people who gather at the Station Hotel for a birthday party. The chef warns the group that no one may sleep in room 207 because it is rumored to be haunted. Undaunted, the drunken birthday boy challenges his guests to a game of cards. wherein the loser will have to sleep in room 207. Before long, the alcohol and the stress of the game begins to affect everyone in the group, exposing their various perversions, secrets, and lusts, and forcing one of them to become a murderer.
