Roger (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), an 11-year-old foster child, has two wishes: to be reunited with his father and to see the California Angels baseball team win the pennant -- and the former depends on the latter. His prayers are answered when angels (visible only to Roger) start helping the ball players, and the team begins to win!
