When his twin, Jesse, disappears from their hometown, Michael Daniels (Dana Ashbrook), a forensic pathologist, returns to root out the truth for himself. While working on the case, he and Jesse's ex-girlfriend, Kate (Kelly Rutherford), grow enamored of each other. But soon, brotherly love turns into shock as he realizes Jesse may not only still be alive, but is also enraged enough to hurt Michael and those he feels have wronged him.
