American Experience: Annie Oakley
(2005)|
Just 60 inches tall and of Quaker faith, Annie Oakley became an icon of the American West thanks to her skills with a shotgun. This Laura Linney-narrated documentary provides a look at the lady behind the legend. From her birth in rural Pennsylvania to her death in 1926, the film provides a well-rounded portrait of a woman who turns out to be a far cry from the sharpshooting spitfire portrayed in films and literature.
