A Bright Shining Lie

This Home Box Office original movie is seen from the viewpoint of Lt. Col. John Paul Vann (Bill Paxton), a military adviser dispatched to Vietnam in the war's early days. Before long, Vann discovers that the South Vietnamese are falsifying evidence of their success and that local army bigwigs are taking unwarranted credit for glorified battles. After exposing the ugly facts to a reporter (Donal Logue), Vann finds his career destroyed.
