Director John Ford and his stock company reunite in his beloved Monument Valley for another study of military honor and, some believe, his take on the Korean War. Between skirmishes with the Apache on the Mexican border, Lt. Col. York (John Wayne) tries to reconcile with his estranged wife (Maureen O'Hara, in her first teaming with Wayne) and son. This is the third in Ford's Cavalry trilogy, following Fort Apache and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon.
