After a string of losing career ventures, brothers David (Oliver Reed) and Michael (Michael Crawford) Tremayne resolve to create infamous reputations for themselves with a radically offbeat publicity stunt. The concept involves stealing Britain's Crown Jewels, but keeping them only until the media latches onto the story. After much research, planning and a smooth execution, a seemingly minor misstep complicates what starts out as a flawless plan.
