Villisca: Living with a Mystery

Filmmakers Kelly and Tammy Rundle explore the facts surrounding one of the most infamous unsolved murders in history, the brutal 1912 slayings of an entire family in Villisca, Iowa, by an unknown, ax-wielding assailant. Reconstructing the crime through rare period photographs, computer animation and interviews with historians, eyewitnesses and forensic experts, the film also posits a few guesses as to who could have committed the killings.
