Broadway Bill

  (1934)
It's no ordinary day at the races in this Frank Capra romance about a betting junkie who tries to turn a sorry excuse for a horse into a Triple Crown winner. Blueblood Dan Brooks (Warner Baxter) infuriates his wife (Helen Vinson) by preferring the racetrack to the family business, but sister-in-law Alice (Myrna Loy) thinks Brooks is swell. Set on making it big, Brooks buys a knock-kneed nag and, with Alice's help, enters it in an important race.
