Eric Erickson (William Holden) is an oil trader turned spy for the Allies against the Nazi party. While working undercover, Eric falls in love with a woman (Lili Palmer) who also happens to be a spy. When her true identity is revealed and she's murdered right in front of him, Eric must do his best to hide his anger and safely return home. Based on a true story.
