In this drama set in a Czechoslovakian village during World War II, Liza (Lisa Hartman) is a 30-year-old Jewish woman who will be sent away to a labor camp against her will unless she agrees to marry a man she despises. Her impending marriage to the man, combined with the war and growing racism around her, gradually wear away Liza's will to live and her desire to pursue her dreams.
