Otto Preminger's beautifully filmed classic is heartbreaking to the extreme. Teenager Cecile (Jean Seberg) is on vacation in the French Riviera with her father (David Niven), who's conducting an affair right before her eyes. When Cecile falls for the sexy Philippe (Geoffrey Horne), her prudish godmother (Deborah Kerr) discovers her liaison and threatens to stop it. Cecile vows to do anything to preserve what she and Philippe have.
